San Antonio Ring

Last year, at my class reunion in Texas, Rick gave me a packet of stones from his jewelry-making days. I had a great time pawing through all the stones, and picking out a few of them. ( "oooooh...shiny!!" ;-) ) My birthstone is opal, so I grabbed a couple of those, as well as some sapphires, amethyst, and tinytinytiny diamonds.
When I came back to Cheese-land, I gave them to another jewelry-making friend, telling him to surprise me. This is the result:
Now, I am no expert on jewelry, but I think it is SO pretty. It's gaudy and gorgeous--and BLUE and PURPLE. I especially like the thick twisted silver that goes around the back of the ring. Mmmmmm, silver--can't wait till it starts to darken. Isn't this a cool memento of SA?
Rick, you are the BEST.
