SEATTLE, Washington (AP) -- Security leading up to the Friday night wedding of Mary Kay Letourneau and her former sixth-grade student rivaled that of a top-secret government operation -- from secret instructions to a hush-hush rendezvous and identity checks.

Does anybody besides me wonder what the reaction would be if it had been a man convicted of raping his 6th grade student, getting her pregnant twice, and now, ten years later, marrying her? Do you think "Entertainment Tonight" would have been paying for the rights to the wedding--or leading the media lynch mob? This whole story makes me ill, and pictures of the happy couple in their wedding outfits do nothing to take away that queasy feeling.
