Yup, they're kinda dark&blurry. I've discovered that my flash doesn't have very much range, lol. At one point, I was standing in front of the stage next to some guy with a digital camera attached to a lens the length of my forearm. I was peeking over his shoulder at the view screen--incredible shots he was getting. The music itself........mmmmmm, is that kid a great guitarist! I may be deaf for a few days--yes, I forgot my earplugs. :-@ click on the pics for some dark stage shots: { gallery [blues2] }

Great ride today! I decided this was the weekend to do the entire Bearskin/ Hiawatha trail trip. The two trails aren't connected yet, so it means riding on a state highway for a mile or so, but that wasn't too bad. Ken dropped me off up near Minocqua, near the northern end of the trail. Three hours later, I made it home, with a total of 28.7 miles on my odometer. Man, I'm tired. I think every muscle in my body has cramped up in the last hour or so, and I can't wait to hear the protesting when I try to get out of bed tomorrow!! I keep thinking that a few months ago, I was wondering if I'd ever get up and down a flight of STAIRS again, so I feel like I accomplished something small today. I did stop to guzzle water a couple of times on the trip. One of the stops was near a plaque, which told the story of the logging train that fell into the marsh on the right side of the old trestle/ trail. There wasn't a date given, but the photo on the plaque looked to be turn of the century. According to the plaque, the locomotive and three cars derailed and fell into the bog--and started sinking. Two huge cranes were brought in to try to hoist the train out of the marsh. Everything was going well until one of the cranes tipped, and fell into the marsh with the locomotive. The effort was abandoned after that, and the locomotive, cars, and crane slowly sank into the marsh, settling about twenty feet down in the muck. I thought I'd be able to google more information than what was on the plaque, but I haven't been able to find anything yet. Maybe I'll take a pic of the plaque next time I ride up there. buried train

BBC NEWS | Science/Nature | Ancient phallus unearthed in cave
A sculpted and polished phallus found in a German cave is among the earliest representations of male sexuality ever uncovered, researchers say. The 20cm-long, 3cm-wide stone object, which is dated to be about 28,000 years old, was buried in the famous Hohle Fels Cave near Ulm in the Swabian Jura. Its life size suggests it may well have been used as a sex aid by its Ice Age makers, scientists report. "In addition to being a symbolic representation of male genitalia, it was also at times used for knapping flints," explained Professor Nicholas Conard, from the department of Early Prehistory and Quaternary Ecology, at Tübingen University. "There are some areas where it has some very typical scars from that," he told the BBC News website.
rockdick Flint knapping, eh?

This is the coolest program I've seen in quite awhile!! My town is in the center of the pic, and work is down in the lower left. The resolution isn't the greatest for this area, but I suppose they didn't want pictures of individual trees. town One of the houses I lived in out in Maryland: bowie Hmmmm, Waldorf seems to be at the edge of good resolution, and I can't even find the Port Tobacco house, although I can picture the road to it: st. Charles Then, we have Wales--I haven't a clue where the house was, since I didn't really live there. hwest This is where I lived then: LCHS Lotsa fun playing with this program!!
