Ladybug Shaped MP3 Player : Gizmodo
Add “ladybug” to that list of bizarre MP3 player shapes. Evergreen Corporation releases 128MB and 256MB models of the player, which are polished to look like a real ladybug. The spots aren’t just for show, either — those are the buttons you use to control play, pause and so forth. Now this is something that my 19-year-old-who-REALLY-hates-asian-ladybeetles will want for Christmas!
This is the guy who's been giving me all these old family pics; in Gieblestadt, Germany in the AirForce about 1958. (Yes, I know I probably butchered that spelling...) What a handsome dude, eh? :-D And this is Mom in 1953, about the time she met my Dad. I see so much of this picture in my daughters' faces.
I spent some time over the last couple of days with my Dad, going through large--extremely large--tubs of photographs and papers, and old valentines, and.....etc. I have this project in mind of scanning all of these old faded photos, and trying to make a little sense out of them. Thankfully, most of them are marked on the back as to WHO the subjects of the photos are. I'd be in a lot of trouble if they weren't already captioned, and in some cases, dated. Click for bigger pictures: This picture is of the Pettis family, taken about 1880 or so. Left to right is Sarah Crandall Pettis, grandson Willie, and Albert Munson Pettis. The Pettis' were my 3x great-grandparents on my father's side. Note the little rock on the bottom shelf of the plant stand in the photo. Looking at the photo, I thought it was a concrete chicken, and I asked why they had a chicken in their photo. My dad laughed, and retrieved a treasure from a shelf in the next room. Look familiar?
Was a wonderful weekend, for quite a few reasons. I think it may always be a good time when the old gals get to hang out together, but this was a truly special one. I guess maybe it's just another example of how things don't always work out the way we planned or hoped, but they work out the way they are supposed to. After all, who would have thought old friends could hook up again after so many years? Whatever...lol, it's been a ride I have loved and will always treasure.... here's to all of you.....
It's always so good to have family together for the Holidays. We all need to get together and destroy some turkey more often. :D Been a VERY long time since I had my picture taken with Santa; and if I'm not mistaken, last time I sat on HIS lap, instead of the other way around!!
Well, I suppose this is ONE way to keep from having a redeye problem in your photos!
Saw a great show last night--one of Ken's favorite old bands from the Seventies-- Alan Parsons Project. Strange seeing them at a casino, but it was actually a pretty good show. We were all seated at tables in a room the size of an average high school gym, and we had seats right down front. I could have reached out and touched the stage. I was never a huge AP fan like Ken, but they were actually pretty good, and I enjoyed hearing the tunes off the new album "A Valid Path". The highlight for Ken came when we did the meet and greet after the show, and Ken got his Tshirt signed. He wasn't real happy when I told him that he could never wear it now, because I don't think the signature would hold up to the washing machine!! http://www.alanparsonsmusic.com/home.html
