Yep, back again after managing to kill the blog (again). You would think I'd learn to quit playing with stuff, wouldn't you?
I managed to rebuild most of the entries, but I did lose a few along the way. So, while I work on restoring those, here are some interesting quotes to while away your time:

"It only takes 20 years for a liberal to become a conservative without changing a single idea."
Robert Anton Wilson

"If you cannot get rid of the family skeleton, you may as well make it dance." George Bernard Shaw

"We are here on earth to do good for others. What the others are here for I don't know." W. H. Auden

"When they discover the center of the universe, a lot of people will be disappointed to discover they are not it." --Bernard Bailey

"If at first you don't succeed, shouldn't you try doing it like your wife told you to?"

maybe...although I've learned to not trust these late February early March thaws. It's not quite shirtsleeves weather, even for us tough 'ole Wisconsin types. The backyard is a quagmire of melting ice and lose-your-boots mud, although the snowbanks are still six feet tall. There is that new, fresh smell to the air--mixed with the odors of last years' rotting vegetation and wandering, lovestruck skunks.

....almost time to get the bike out!!!

Was an interesting afternoon. I know I enjoyed watching the interviews and the camera people and hand-shaking as much as anything. I got to shake hands with Gov. Doyle on his way out of the building, and I DID manage to say "Nice to meet you. Thanks for coming up to see us" without my voice squeaking too much, and one of his aides took a picture of us. Hehehehe, I photograph SOOO badly....

It was interesting to see the minor circus that surrounds this--security people, camera people, etc. Char and I went out to the entry after all the speeches and spent a little time talking with the two state troopers who were doing security. They said this was actually a very SMALL gathering, and it was BIG news for my little town.

Gotta go tape the news, lol

Just got an interesting phone call from Kevin. I, as a member of my Local's Executive Board, have been summoned to appear ( hopefully in the background!) at a press conference tomorrow with the governor of our great state of Wisconsin. Too weird, hehehehe!!! Apparently, Gov. Doyle is coming to little Tomahawk to "attaboy" my company for their environmental efforts (which they DO deserve, I have to say). And our Exec Board has been invited to attend, although we have been asked to stand, rather than take up the limited seating. This is REALLY going to be interesting. Wonder if I dare sneak my digital in there to get some pictures---or would I be wrestled to the ground after the flash goes off a couple times? I'll take it along, maybe get to post a couple. Should be an interesting afternoon, though. Now....whaddya wear to a press conference??!!

Here it is..another year begun..... I'm half asleep/half awake from the after-effects of bringing in New Years' Eve at the Salt mines. (Bet you thought I was going to say from the after-effects of too much alcohol, didn't you?) Brought in the New Year making an inspection round through the basement; all alone and quiet except for the roar of the machinery. And my life is (as usual) messy and too much to do. Before I hare off on another wild ride, it seemed right to wish you all a happy 2004. Be kind to yourselves and each other. Take as much love as the world offers you and run with it. It's supposed to be fun, for cryin' out loud! Never give up, and never give in. Love y'all.....
