Well, it's political season in Wisconsin; so we had a guest speaker at our Region convention. No, it wasn't Kerry--that visit fell through--but Dick Gephart stopped by to make a very rousing speech. I did enjoy hearing from him, but a lot of us wondered where all that fire was back during primary season.

Well, I'm off to my PACE leadership convention/ school. Rumor has it that we're going to have a special speaker at the Tuesday night banquet. Since John Kerry is campaigning in Milwaukee on Tuesday and appearing in Madison on Wednesday.......hmmmmmm, could it be possible?

I AM taking Shawn's little camera along, just in case. Fifty mile rule or no, there WILL be pictures!!!

Yep, back again after managing to kill the blog (again). You would think I'd learn to quit playing with stuff, wouldn't you?
I managed to rebuild most of the entries, but I did lose a few along the way. So, while I work on restoring those, here are some interesting quotes to while away your time:

"It only takes 20 years for a liberal to become a conservative without changing a single idea."
Robert Anton Wilson

"If you cannot get rid of the family skeleton, you may as well make it dance." George Bernard Shaw

"We are here on earth to do good for others. What the others are here for I don't know." W. H. Auden

"When they discover the center of the universe, a lot of people will be disappointed to discover they are not it." --Bernard Bailey

"If at first you don't succeed, shouldn't you try doing it like your wife told you to?"

Saw a great show last night--one of Ken's favorite old bands from the Seventies-- Alan Parsons Project. Strange seeing them at a casino, but it was actually a pretty good show. We were all seated at tables in a room the size of an average high school gym, and we had seats right down front. I could have reached out and touched the stage. I was never a huge AP fan like Ken, but they were actually pretty good, and I enjoyed hearing the tunes off the new album "A Valid Path". The highlight for Ken came when we did the meet and greet after the show, and Ken got his Tshirt signed. He wasn't real happy when I told him that he could never wear it now, because I don't think the signature would hold up to the washing machine!! http://www.alanparsonsmusic.com/home.html

Guniness Stout Ice Cream 1 cup water 2 tablespoons cornstarch 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk 1 1/2 cups evaporated milk 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup Guinness stout In a heavy saucepan whisk together the water and the cornstarch and simmer the mixture over moderate heat, whisking, for 2 minutes. Add the milks, the salt, and the sugar, heat the mixture over moderately low heat, whisking, for 1 to 2 minutes, or until the sugar is dissolved, and remove the pan from the heat. Let the mixture cool completely, stir in the Guinness, and freeze the mixture in an ice-cream freezer according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Trying to decide if this sounds like a recipe to try, or not!!
