I promise. Life is *really* getting in the way of blogging this week! Doesn't that bite, lol? Happy Valentine's Day to all you kiddies while I'm here. [UPDATE: I have decided that packing is no picnic, should never be attempted by amateurs like us, and that cardboard boxes reproduce like rabbits when you leave them alone overnight.]

shoveling And I whine when I have to shovel 7 or 8 inches of the white stuff? I promise I will never complain again ....well, not much, anyway. As long as it stays above zero. P.S. this is a *very old* fat chick pic. :-D N.Y. town's snowfall may be over 11 feet
REDFIELD, N.Y. - This village in upstate New York's snowbelt gets a lot of snowfall during the winter, but last week's total — more than 11 feet, unofficially — might be an all-time record. All that's left — apart from the massive dig out — is to claim the record for the most snowfall in a week. Redfield's total of 136 inches would break the state record of ten feet, seven inches that fell in nearby Montague over seven days ending Jan. 1, 2002, said Steve McLaughlin, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Buffalo.

Guess everybody's in for that big old half-billion dollar payout, aren't they? Hey. *I* am the father of Anna Nicole's baby!!!! Zsa Zsas husband: I might be babys dad
LOS ANGELES - The husband of actress Zsa Zsa Gabor said Friday that he had a decade-long affair with Anna Nicole Smith and may be her infant daughters father. The claim by Prince Frederic von Anhalt comes amid a paternity suit over Smiths 5-month-old daughter, Dannielynn. The birth certificate lists Dannielynns father as attorney Howard K. Stern, but former Smith boyfriend Larry Birkhead is waging a legal challenge, saying he is the father. "If you go back from September, she wasnt with one of those guys, she was with me," von Anhalt told The Associated Press in an interview Friday. He said he would file a lawsuit if Dannielynn is turned over to Stern or Birkhead.
That poor little kid. I wonder if it's any coincidence that this story came out today, as well. CDC finds dramatic rise in drug deaths
ATLANTA - Unintentional fatal drug overdoses in the United States nearly doubled from 1999 to 2004, overtaking falls to become the nation's second-leading cause of accidental death, behind automobile crashes, the government reported.

This is just a little experimental post. I was playing with this new version of Word, and I stumbled across a "publish to blog" option. (Ain't software wonderful these days?) Some good news, though! APUS credited me 6, count 'em, SIX!!, credits towards grad based on the CLEP test I took back in December. I still have absolutely no idea what the test score number actually meant, but it must have been sufficient for credit. So, that's the equivalent of $1500 saved—always an extremely good thing! I *am* the Goddess of English Composition!

The New Leash OK here it is. My new leash. It could be no less annoying if it actually had a shock collar attached. Now Uncle can reach out and touch me anywhere anytime he wants to. "At least until I am off the clock". It will probably take me 6 mos. to figure out all the junk it does. Wonder if it will accept MP3 files????? Guess I will have to breack down and read the manual.

Ananova - Gym to offer naked sessions
A gym in Holland is to offer naked fitness sessions for naturists on Sundays. The Dutch Naturist Federation says the fitness centre in Heteren will be the first in the country to cater for naturists. Gym owner Patrick De Man said: "People undress for taking a sauna, why not for exercising?" He came up with the idea after two naturists joined the gym and asked about nude sessions.
Can you imagine the distraction possibilities? And I was shy about wearing anything less than full sweats for the longest time at the gym. Am I a typical midwesterner, or what?

And #2 daughter is loving the extra day on her weekend. They haven't announced the local school closed for tomorrow, even though every school around us has already announced. Hopefully, it will be warmer than this morning's -26. Ooooooh, that wind was brisk this morning. Quite brisk. My teeth may quit chattering by next week. Below-zero temps close schools - Yahoo News
A bone-chilling cold wave with temperatures as low as 42 below zero shut down schools for thousands of youngsters Monday, sent homeless people into shelters and put car batteries on the disabled list from the northern Plains across the Great Lakes. At least six deaths were linked to the cold weather.
But then again, there's always at least one smart-aleck in the bunch, namely this guy!
"It's only 31 below," said Randy Hjelmstad, owner of Randy's Refuse in Grand Forks. "It's not that bad out."
Ya gotta wonder if "Randy's Refuse" is a garbage service? A restaurant? A bar?
