1 - number of times I did the whole Hazelhurst to Tomahawk on the Trek. 2 - piles of bear...um, "scat"...I saw this summer. Yes, I know where the big bear poops. Right in the MIDDLE of the bike trail. 3 - number of deer I saw this evening on my ride. 4 - number of suicidal squirrels I've almost squooshed this summer on rides. 5 - number of times I got soaked by rain while riding. 6 - the number of gears on my 24-speed bike that I actually used! 7 - 8 - number of times I did the full Bearskin trail 9 - 10- average miles per day since I started riding at the end of May. . . . . 645- number of times I heard Ben Folds' "Landed" on the 'pod. How ONE purchased song managed to replicate itself on every single playlist (even my audiobooks file!!) is beyond me. Some kinda virus, I guess.

Green MP to run nude after Hide wins Epsom
Green Party MP Keith Locke today quashed fears he would be the first MP to break a 2005 election vow -- he will run nude in Epsom as promised. Mr Locke said he would do the nude dash if Act leader Rodney Hide somehow won the blue riband Auckland seat. Mr Hide romped home yesterday, prising the seat off National incumbent Richard Worth. Mr Locke told NZPA he had made a promise and would not risk his political credibility by backing out of it now. Planning was already under way. "We haven't set a date, we've got preparations to do in terms of choreography ... it will be a colourful political event," he said. "It will be artistic and it will involve body paint."
Painted Green, I would imagine? (hat tip to the Badger Blog Alliance)

WCCO: Vang Found Guilty In Deer Hunters' Deaths
On Thursday, Vang took the stand in his defense. He said he fired at the group of hunters because he feared for his life. Vang said the shootings happened after one of the white hunters used profanities and racial slurs when angrily confronting him for trespassing in a tree stand used to hunt deer last fall. Vang insisted he killed the hunters in self-defense, although the two survivors of the shootings testified earlier that only one shot was fired at Vang, and that was after he had already shot the victims. When cross-examined by Wisconsin Attorney General Peg Lautenschlager, Vang was asked if each victim deserved to die. Vang answered "no" in some cases and "yes" in others. Autopsies showed the youngest of the victims, 20-year-old Joey Crotteau, was shot four times in the back or side. Three others -- Robert Crotteau, Laski and Jessica Willers -- were shot in the back, some multiple times. Roidt was shot once in the head and Drew was shot once in the lower chest.

...gave me an early birthday present last night. Seeing that I would be on vacation this weekend for the Fall Ride , they figured I need a new outfit to wear in the parade. Yep, they think I should squeeze the almost-45-year-old-fanny into this little number. And ride through town. On my Harley. In front of everyone I know. Tassel1 Yes, I know it's hard to see over the black Tshirt, but yes, that *is* a leather bikini ( well, Vinyl) top...with tassels for when I get bored, I guess......Pat informed me that he once saw a TV show with a woman whose talent was twirling her tassels different directions at the same time. "Maybe you could learn to do that trick." Uh, no. (I'm wondering *what* TV station he could have been watching!!) tassel2 Cute, eh? The real thrill came when I examined the little pocket on the thong bottom.....surprise Looks like I'm going to have a lot more fun this weekend than *I* thought!!!! Damn, I love my crew. Why do I have the feeling that I am going to be seeing these photos on the bulletin board when I get back to work?
