After spending ALL morning trying to get the meeting minutes for LAST month printed out for tonight's meeting ( this included much discussion with my ancient laserprinter about either the advisability of it working with its new toner cartridge or taking flight lessons before it went out the window), I feel the need to embarass my children by posting some of my favorite pictures of them!! cheerleader < --This is #1 kidlet in her cheerleader incarnation. She would never admit to it today, however--even though this *is* just a Halloween costume. fire < --This is #2 kidlet and one of her buddies and the fire they built on one of our camping trips. I think this was probably the highlight of their entire trip!

This week April 11 through April 17 Libra Relationships are going through a very interesting phase this week, especially as the Solar Eclipse, in your opposite sign of Aries, takes place on Friday. You may have come to the conclusion that something was bubbling away beneath the surface some time ago. If this is the case then it is certainly going to become very obvious this week. You yourself know what kind of event it will be, either positive or negative, but you could also be taken by surprise - so do be prepared. Mercury is still retrograde, but not for too much longer.
Ya know, horrorscopes are a good giggle anyway; but I had a sense of deja vu when this one arrived in my mailbox this morning. Does it look an awfully lot like this one????? LAST week's Horrorscope Note to self: If this week is going to be even remotely like last week, go back to bed and STAY there.....

The Belmont Club : Karol Wotjyla
More than half a century later, near the end of his life, Wotjyla's Last Will would pass over his world-historical role in the destruction of Communism, as if it never happened, to return to memories of family and friends. " As the end of my life approaches I return with my memory to the beginning, to my parents, to my brother, to the sister (I never knew because she died before my birth), to the parish in Wadowice, where I was baptized, to that city I love, to my peers, friends from elementary school, high school and the university, up to the time of the occupation when I was a worker, and then in the parish of Niegowic, then St. Florian's in Krakow, to the pastoral ministry of academics, to the milieu of ... to all milieux ... to Krakow and to Rome ... to the people who were entrusted to me in a special way by the Lord." He understood what John Buchan wrote of in Witch Wood: that the mountains and hills were only passing things; what endured in the sight of the Lord was the fragile love between people.
I know I'm a little wussy these days, but those last couple of lines almost brought me to tears....

ACL No, that ISN'T what you thought it was!!! I got the pictures from the knee arthroscopy, and decided to SHARE them with all of you!! ( Lucky you) That picture above is, according to the squiggle of the good doctor's handwriting around the border, a perfectly normal ACL--the ligament in the knee. Yup, that isn't what I thought it was at first, either! holes This is the end of the bone in my knee--forgot the name of it. Those are the holes they hammered into it to try to get the bone to fill in. No wonder it ached, eh?

Southern Dialect Quiz and my score is: 48% (Yankee). Barely into the Yankee category.

prohibition I got a kick out of this photo. That's my county sheriff great-grandfather standing on the back of the truck on the left side, showing off a little something they found back in the Roaring 20's. Wonder what the moonshiners were making with this??

Ladybug Shaped MP3 Player : Gizmodo
Add “ladybug” to that list of bizarre MP3 player shapes. Evergreen Corporation releases 128MB and 256MB models of the player, which are polished to look like a real ladybug. The spots aren’t just for show, either — those are the buttons you use to control play, pause and so forth.
Now this is something that my 19-year-old-who-REALLY-hates-asian-ladybeetles will want for Christmas!

Knocked up This picture was taken in February of 1985, the day I found out I was pregnant with #1 kidlet ( who, by the way, thinks this picture is a little weird). Notice the slightly dazed, slightly terrified look on my face?? The "oh-my-god-what-have-I-done" look? It's still there, most days..... :-)

I've been trying all morning to get into the WWSP online radio to listen to a little bit of Trivia--but I keep getting the error message that "the server has reached it's limits". Figures...maybe I should have locked into the feed before Trivia actually STARTED friday night. Ah, well--I would have loved to have seen what the questions are like nowadays.

Dad This is the guy who's been giving me all these old family pics; in Gieblestadt, Germany in the AirForce about 1958. (Yes, I know I probably butchered that spelling...) What a handsome dude, eh? :-D Mom And this is Mom in 1953, about the time she met my Dad. I see so much of this picture in my daughters' faces.
