The Boss does it again

Published on October 1 2007

I've been listening to the new album since last night, when it first was available for download. Go here for samples. Even better, go buy the thing--it's his best since 2002,and very possibly one of his best ever. I mean that, and I've been a fan since a million years ago. At first listen, there are a half-dozen classics on this album--you will be hearing the songs "Girls in their Summer Clothes" and "Gypsy Biker" quite a bit in the next few months, I think. But this is the one that left me shaking. "Devil's Arcade". What a song. Dear Lord, to be able to write like that.... "A voice says "don't worry, I'm here Just whisper the word "tomorrow" in my ear A house on a quiet street, a home for the brave The glorious kingdom of the sun on your face Rising from a long night as dark as the grave On a thin chain of next moments and something like faith"
'Magic,' Bruce Springsteen's new studio recording and his first with the E Street Band in five years, is has been released by Columbia Records. Produced and mixed by Brendan O'Brien, the album features eleven new Springsteen songs and was recorded at Southern Tracks Recording Studio in Atlanta, GA."
And of course, there's always this news. St. Paul, anyone???
